Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 17, 2026 · Version privacy-2026-09-17-v2
Plumb Line Leaders ("Plumb Line," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by JATA Ventures LLC, a Michigan limited liability company doing business as Plumb Line Leaders. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information when you visit plumblineleaders.com, create an account, take an assessment, share results, participate through an organization or network, purchase a subscription, or otherwise use our websites and services (collectively, the "Service").
Plumb Line is an interior health assessment for adult ministry leaders. Because assessment responses may feel personal or sensitive, we want you to understand clearly how they are handled and who may be able to see them.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
We may collect:
- Account information, including your full name, email address, password credentials, account role, and organization affiliation. Passwords are handled through our authentication provider and are not stored by us in readable form.
- Assessment information, including your question-level responses, calculated domain scores, overall results or status, identified patterns, and the dates or status of assessment attempts.
- Sharing and relationship information, including organizations, networks, coaches, board members, practitioners, or other authorized people with whom you choose to share results, as well as invitations and access permissions.
- Organization and subscription information, including organization name, roster information, membership roles, plan, subscription status, and related account administration information.
- Communications, including messages or requests you send to us for support, privacy requests, or other inquiries.
Multiple assessment attempts may remain associated with your account, even though the current interface may display only your most recent assessment.
Payment information
Payments are processed through Stripe's hosted checkout. Plumb Line does not receive or store your full payment-card number. We may receive and store limited transaction and subscription information from Stripe, such as a Stripe customer or subscription identifier, plan, payment status, and related billing records.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Service, our systems and service providers may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages requested, timestamps, security events, and similar logs needed to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the Service.
Our hosting provider, Lovable, provides aggregate project analytics, such as visits, page views, visit duration, referral source, device type, and country inferred from browser timezone. According to Lovable's service documentation, these analytics do not use analytics cookies or create individual visitor profiles.
The Service also loads Google Fonts from Google's servers. As part of that request, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser information. Plumb Line does not use Google Fonts to set advertising or analytics cookies.
We use essential browser storage or cookies for login sessions and limited application preferences. We do not currently use advertising cookies, behavioral advertising pixels, or analytics cookies.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- create, authenticate, and manage accounts;
- administer and score assessments;
- generate and provide assessment results and downloadable reports;
- remember assessment progress and maintain prior assessment records;
- enable sharing that a user initiates and manage authorized access;
- manage organizations, networks, rosters, subscriptions, and invitations;
- send transactional messages, such as welcome, password-reset, invitation, reminder, results-ready, and sharing notifications;
- process subscriptions and maintain billing records;
- provide support and respond to requests;
- maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service;
- monitor aggregate use and understand how visitors find and use the Service;
- if Plumb Line activates a future research or benchmarking program after providing the applicable notice and choices described below, analyze eligible assessment information to understand trends in ministry-leader health, improve the assessment, develop benchmarks, and create reports, articles, presentations, and educational resources;
- enforce our Terms of Use and protect users, Plumb Line, and others; and
- comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not currently use account information to enroll users automatically in a marketing newsletter. If we introduce marketing email, we will provide any notices and choices required by law.
3. Assessment Results and Sharing
How sharing works
Your assessment is not automatically shared with a coach, board member, practitioner, or other participant simply because you take it or belong to an organization. Sharing begins when you take an action that authorizes access through the Service.
Important organization-owner access
When you share results with a coach or board member connected to your organization, an Organization Owner may also access those shared results without a separate sharing grant. A Network Owner may have corresponding access across affiliated organizations. You should consider this before sharing.
Organization owners can also see organization roster information, including names, email addresses, membership, and roles. They do not receive unshared assessment results merely because a leader appears on the roster.
Network dashboards may present anonymized or aggregated participant information. Separately, a Network Owner may be able to access identified results that a participant has already shared within an affiliated organization, as described above.
Administrative and technical access
Authorized Plumb Line administrators and technical service providers may be capable of accessing personal information, including assessment information, when reasonably necessary to operate, support, secure, maintain, investigate misuse of, or comply with legal obligations relating to the Service. We do not represent that assessment information is inaccessible to all system administrators.
No sale, advertising, or AI processing of assessment data
We do not sell personal information. We do not use assessment responses or results for targeted advertising. We do not send assessment responses, scores, or results to OpenAI, Anthropic, or another generative artificial-intelligence provider. Assessment scoring uses fixed calculations, and reports are generated without sending assessment data to an AI provider.
Research, trends, and benchmarking
Plumb Line does not currently use participant assessment responses to publish research or benchmarking reports. We may introduce a research and benchmarking program in the future to identify broader patterns and trends—for example, changes over time in the areas where ministry leaders report the greatest strength or strain.
Before activating that program, we will provide clear additional notice and any consent or choice required by applicable law. Depending on the legal requirements and the program design, participation may be based on disclosed aggregate use, an opportunity to opt out, or affirmative permission. The applicable notice will explain the model before assessment information is included. Eligible information may include aggregate domain scores, response patterns, or findings related to particular assessment questions and may be used in reports, articles, presentations, educational resources, product development, and other research or benchmarking work.
Any published findings will not include names, email addresses, individual reports, identifiable responses, or information reasonably intended to identify a particular participant. We will take reasonable steps to avoid publishing findings about groups so small or narrowly defined that an individual, church, organization, or network could reasonably be identified. Plumb Line will not attempt to re-identify information used for these purposes.
If this program is introduced, the accompanying notice will explain any available participation choices and how to exercise them. Information already incorporated into a completed aggregated, de-identified analysis or published report may no longer be capable of being associated with a particular participant or removed as an individual contribution.
4. When We Disclose Information
We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
- At your direction or with authorized participants. We disclose assessment results when you use the Service to share them, subject to the related Organization Owner and Network Owner access described above.
- Within organizations and networks. We disclose roster, role, subscription, aggregate, and previously shared information as needed to provide organization and network features.
- To service providers. Vendors process information on our behalf to provide infrastructure, authentication, database, hosting, email, payment, font delivery, analytics, security, and support functions. Current major providers include Supabase, Lovable and its infrastructure providers (including Cloudflare), Resend, Stripe, and Google Fonts/Google.
- For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, court order, or other lawful process; is necessary to protect rights, safety, or security; or is needed to investigate fraud, misuse, or violations of our terms.
- In a business transaction. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law.
We may use or disclose aggregated or de-identified technical, traffic, subscription, and operational information to operate, secure, understand, and improve the Service. Assessment responses and results will not be included in research, benchmarking, or public trend reporting until Plumb Line activates the program and provides the applicable notice and choices described above. We will not attempt to re-identify de-identified information except as permitted by law for security or validation purposes.
If assessment information is eligible for a future research or benchmarking program under the notice and choice model then in effect, aggregated and de-identified information already created through that program may be retained and used after the underlying account or identifiable information is deleted, provided the retained information does not reasonably identify the participant. Because properly aggregated findings are not maintained as individual records, Plumb Line may not be able to remove an individual contribution from a completed analysis or published report.
5. Transactional Email
We use Resend to deliver service-related messages, such as account, password-reset, assessment, invitation, reminder, and sharing notifications. These messages are part of operating the Service and are not the same as promotional newsletters. You may not be able to opt out of essential account or security messages while maintaining an active account.
6. Data Retention
We retain account, assessment, sharing, organization, subscription, and related records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and maintain the Service, preserve the integrity of authorized sharing, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Plumb Line does not currently apply an automatic deletion schedule to assessment records. Multiple assessment attempts may remain in our systems unless the account and associated data are deleted. If you request deletion, we will evaluate and process the request as required by applicable law. We may retain limited information when reasonably necessary or legally required, including transaction records, security logs, records of requests, or information needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We may retain limited records documenting acceptance of our Terms and acknowledgment of our Privacy Policy, including the applicable document versions, date, account identifier, and email address, when reasonably necessary to maintain business and legal records or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
7. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
You may download a PDF snapshot of your own results through the Service. The Service does not currently provide self-service account deletion or a full self-service data export.
To request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, or to ask a privacy question, email hello@plumblineleaders.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law.
Deleting an account may permanently remove access to assessment responses, results, and related features. Information that another user independently possesses—for example, a report you downloaded and gave to someone outside the Service—cannot necessarily be retrieved or deleted by Plumb Line.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information. We also rely on established service providers for authentication, database, hosting, email, and payment functions. No internet transmission, storage system, or security method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and for notifying us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
9. Adults Only
The Service is intended for adults age 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided personal information to us, contact us at hello@plumblineleaders.com so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
10. United States Service
Plumb Line is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Those locations may have data-protection laws different from those in your country.
The Service is not presently offered as a product specifically designed for compliance with the laws of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other non-U.S. jurisdictions. Organizations intending to deploy the Service outside the United States should contact us before doing so.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may link to third-party websites or integrate services governed by their own privacy policies and terms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties when they act independently rather than as our service providers. We encourage you to review their policies.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service or law changes. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date. If changes materially affect how we use assessment information already collected, we will provide additional notice or seek consent when required by law.
